Who can precept your substance use hours?
In an addiction setting, the supervising clinician is generally an ANCC board-certified PMHNP-BC or a board-certified psychiatrist, often one with addiction-medicine experience or the appropriate authority to prescribe medication-assisted treatment. Some programs allow certain hours to be supervised by other qualified behavioral-health prescribers, subject to their own rules.
All hours have to be faculty-supervised within a program accredited by CCNE or ACEN (NLN CNEA also accredits some nursing programs), and the exact credentials are set by each school.
