Our PMHNP preceptor matching service
Our matching service runs the PMHNP preceptor search for you. Where your program permits a student proposal, we source a scope-matched preceptor for each rotation you still need, help assemble the CV and agreement your school's approval requires, and stay with the file until your program reviews it. We source and place approvable preceptors and prepare paperwork. We do not sell, rent, guarantee, or pay for clinical hours, your university makes the final approval, and there is no fee until a match is confirmed.
What matching actually means here
Matching is not handing you a directory and wishing you luck. It is finding a specific clinician whose license, certification, and active caseload fit one of your rotations, confirming the person is willing and available, and preparing that candidate for your program's review. A name on a list is not a match. An approvable, documented, scope-fit preceptor whose site will host you is.
Because PMHNP is a lifespan credential, we match rotation by rotation. The prescriber who suits your medication-management hours is rarely the clinician who carries the youth caseload your child and adolescent hours need, so we run those as separate, parallel searches.
What we handle end to end
- Rotation-matched sourcing. We look for the exact preceptor each rotation requires, from a pediatric-psychiatry specialist to a prescribing preceptor for medication management.
- Scarce first. We open the child and adolescent and inpatient searches earliest, because those are the ones that stall a term.
- Local first. We prioritize your area, since most placements and site-approval processes are geographically bound.
- Approval-ready paperwork. We help assemble the CV, the preceptor agreement, and the documentation your program's approval asks for, and prepare the file the way reviewers expect to receive it.
- Follow-through. We stay with the submission and answer program questions until the review is complete.
The scope match that keeps hours countable
The most expensive mistake in a psychiatric placement is logging hours under a preceptor who was never a scope fit. We screen for it before we ever propose a name. A candidate has to be licensed in your state, board certified for the population, and practicing in it now.
Prescribing and controlled-substance authority get specific attention, because so much of psychiatric care is medication management. We confirm that a proposed preceptor's prescribing scope and your state's practice-authority arrangement line up with what your rotation is graded on, so the hours you complete are hours your program can accept.
How the engagement runs
- Tell us the gap. Your program, your city, and the rotations you still need.
- We plan the lifespan. We sequence the searches, hardest first, and tell you honestly what your timeline looks like.
- We source and vet. We identify candidates, confirm fit and willingness, and gather what your program needs to decide.
- You and your program approve. We present the file, your school makes the call, and only then is there a fee.
That last point is the whole ethic of the service. You are matched first and pay when a placement is secured, never before, and never for the hours themselves.
What we will not do
We will not sell you hours, promise a specific clinician, or guarantee that your program will approve a match, because those are not ours to give. We are not affiliated with any university, and we never imply that we are. We do not pay preceptors to take students, and we would steer you away from anyone who offers to sell you hours directly. Honest sourcing is the only kind that survives a program's review.

Good to know
What am I paying for, exactly?
The service: sourcing scope-matched preceptors, vetting them, and preparing the approval paperwork across the rotations you still need. You are never paying for clinical hours, and you are never paying a preceptor to take you. There is no fee until a match is confirmed.
Do you guarantee a placement?
No. We aim for approvable preceptors and sites and work the search hard, but placement is never guaranteed and final approval always rests with your program. Any service that guarantees hours or approval is promising something it does not control.
Are you affiliated with my university?
No. We are an independent service and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any university or certification body. We serve PMHNP students at every university that offers the program, and your school makes every approval decision.
Cover every rotation, not just the easy ones
Tell us your PMHNP program, your city, and the rotations you still need. We will come back with a plan for the full psych lifespan and a realistic path to placed.
